Developing micro-learning training modules
Challenge
To achieve the digital vision for this global pharma company required the whole workforce to build their understanding of and engagement with digital and AI, and the opportunities created through these technologies. Levels of understanding varied hugely, so we needed to develop a range of learning experiences that would aim to bring all employees up to a common level of competence.
What we did
Using a specialist AI tool to develop the training, Smartcat.com, and an avatar tool, veed.io, to create the avatar video content, we developed a set of 10 base-level training modules around digital, data and AI. These modules included video, interactive elements, navigable information, and quizzes to ensure that users would engage actively with the content. These were exported in SCORM format, with the ability to uploaded rapidly to Veeva learning for a client’s global workforce to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s global AI policy, governance, ethical principles, risk management, and practical guidelines for AI implementation.
Results
Consistent feedback from several business areas was that they needed more “practical” training, so we took the approach of blending background and theory with practical examples relevant to the business. Feedback from test users has been consistently good as we now roll out this program during the forthcoming “Learning week”
Key Takeaways
AI tools now enable tailored and engaging learning modules to be created in multiple languages far quicker and more effectively than previously.
This creates an opportunity to adopt a new approach to employee learning, by building relevant, short, engaging and impactful microlearning modules that can be picked up across the world quickly and easily. All of which demonstrates practical examples of supporting a learning culture.
