Using innovation and agility to rapidly develop strategy
Challenge
A top 10 pharma company partnered with us to co-create a go-to-market strategy for a new digital health solution that improves disease management for caregivers and HCPs. Key challenges included:
Caregiver Challenges
- Unstructured tracking of complex disease/medication data
- Inefficient HCP interactions due to fragmented information
- Lack of educational resources for disease management
…and resulting HCP Challenges
- Absence of longitudinal, structured patient data
- Limited holistic insights for treatment recommendations
- Time-consuming data aggregation from disparate sources
What we did
Leveraging the Design Sprint methodology, we facilitated rapid alignment and prototyping to address these challenges:
Strategy Sprint (2-Day Workshop)
- Aligned leadership on a unified vision and 12-month roadmap
- Identified critical pain points for HCPs, KOLs, and caregivers through user-centric ideation
- Prioritized GtM tactics and communications strategies
Omnichannel Commercial Model
- Developed tailored launch narratives and messaging for 1st/2nd wave markets
- Co-created scalable content frameworks compliant with regulatory requirements
Results
- Centralized GtM Strategy: Documents and playbooks enabled seamless local market rollouts, including FAQs for cross-functional teams (Legal, IT, Compliance)
- Stakeholder Alignment: Internal campaigns unified global teams around the initiative’s KPIs and milestones.
- User-Centric Outcomes:
- Caregivers gained tools for structured disease tracking
- HCPs accessed correlated, longitudinal data for better decision-making.
Why it worked
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Design sprints bridged gaps between regulatory, IT, and clinical teams, reducing approval bottlenecks.
- Rapid Validation: Early prototyping with HCPs and caregivers ensured solutions met real-world needs
- •For regulated industries like pharma, design sprints offer a proven framework to accelerate innovation while mitigating risk. This project highlights how iterative, user-focused methods can drive digital transformation even in complex environments
